Top 5 Worst Video Game Significant Others
Video games often give their protagonists significant others, but this rarely is a good idea. For every interesting love interest, there are 40 bland, generic, or annoying ones. Even when it's an RPG that gives you multiple choices, almost all of them are terrible. This does not seem like a trend that will reverse any time soon, so here are the five worst significant others of gaming. Just be glad you don't have to deal with them yourselves.
5.Princess Elise - Sonic the Hedgehog 2006
DON'T WORRY, JUST RAISE YOUR HEAD AND RUN.
Okay, this one is more because the relationship exists, but I'm blaming the relationship on the Princess who decided she was going to start hanging out with a giant hedgehog. Then later bring him back to life with magic kisses. She is a generic helpless princess who has the added bonus of being into bestiality. Also, it wouldn't be a worst ever list without Sonic 06 appearing in one form or another.
4.Anomen Delryn -Baldur's Gate II - Shadows of Amn

If you play a female character in Baldur's Gate II, Anomen is your only choice for romance. This means, if you play a female character, you will not romance anyone because Anomen is commonly known as Annoyomen in the fan community. Anomen brags about awesome fights he allegedly was in and is annoyingly self-righteous. If you dare to question any of his decisions he will decide you are evil or stupid. He is a very one-sided, uptight character who isn't even a good cleric due to his 12 wisdom score. Thankfully, the modding community is there to give females more options.
3.Ashley Williams and Kaidan Alenko - Mass Effect
![mass-effect-kaidan[1]](http://s3.media.squarespace.com/production/863248/10408321/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/mass-effect-kaidan1-300x168.jpg)
Kaidan and Ashley are both party members you can romance in Mass Effect. They are the boring and annoying human characters that are less interesting than everyone else. Kaidan is just kind of a douchebag. He constantly whines about his biotics and he makes a lot of unfunny snide comments that just annoy more than amuse. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why, but his attitude throughout the whole game is just plain irritating.![ashqinw[1]](http://s3.media.squarespace.com/production/863248/10408321/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/ashqinw1-300x275.png)
Ashley is a huge racist. She complains constantly that Shepard lets the aliens walk around on the ship freely and that there are aliens on board at all. Considering that the aliens are the most likable characters in the game (outside of Joker), her racism is just really annoying. The worst part is that she tries to kill Wrex. You don't mess with Wrex.
Thankfully you can kill Ashley or Kaiden, unfortunately you can't kill both.
2.Rose - Metal Gear Solid 2

"Do you know what day it is tomorrow? It's really important."
"Do you really love me, or are you only going out with me to make others jealous?"
"I'm pregnant with your baby!"
Rosemary insists on telling Raiden how she feels about everything. She does this while he's fighting terrorists. You want to save the game? Too bad! First you have to hear Rose tell you that she doesn't like the drapes in Raiden's room. Walking down the hallway, hoping that there isn't another guard around the corner? Well here's Rose calling you to say she doesn't like her sex life. Rose will never stop talking or complaining about anything, and you cannot mash the x button fast enough when she starts talking. Also she was a spy planted by the la-li-lu-le-lo.
1.Trish - inFAMOUS
![Trish[1]](http://s3.media.squarespace.com/production/863248/10408321/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Trish1-227x300.jpg)
Trish is one of the most annoying video game characters of all time. After Cole gets blown up by a giant bomb and survives by gaining superpowers, Trish decides its his fault. It's his fault that the delivery job he works for was used to transport a bomb. This is like blaming your pizza guy for bringing you pizza that gives you food poisoning. Trish and Cole were together for a long time already, but apparently she didn't trust him at all given her reaction. Therefore most dialog with her consists of "YOU KILLED MY SISTER!" or "YOU'RE A MONSTER!" Even though she hates Cole's guts and blames him for everything, she still has the gall to ask him to run errands and do various favors for her. Not to mention she likes to randomly give you a phone call to tell Cole how much of an asshole he is.
If you do a lot of good deeds, she will decide to get back with Cole, but even then she complains and says you're a horrible person for even once thinking about not going out of your way to be the nicest person in the world. In Trish's eye - superpowers mean you have to be even nicer than Superman.
