Sonic Triple Trouble (Japanese title: Sonic & Tails 2) is a direct sequel to Sonic Chaos (Japanese title: Sonic & Tails). Once again, I have to wonder why they changed the name, because Triple Trouble doesn’t make much sense as a title. Again, only Sonic & Tails are playable and while there are three antagonists, you don’t see them very often so I have no idea why they settled on that name.
Unlike the other Game Gear games up to this point, Sonic …
Deadbeat Club is a column about good video games you can get cheaply, primarily free ones.
At first, I wanted to call BLOCKSUM a ripoff of Tetris, but I realized that wasn’t very accurate. Then I thought it was more like Tetris Attack, which was more accurate, but still wrong. Then I realized that BLOCKSUM is a rare kind of puzzle game, the kind that isn’t a rip-off of Tetris, Tetris Attack or Bejeweled.
BLOCKSUM involves minor math skills, so if you’re one of those people who can’t do addition quickly, …
That’s right, I’m not going to give up on my insane idea of playing/writing about every single Sonic the Hedgehog game after all. Sonic’s 19th birthday is here and I felt like doing something to commemorate it, like talk about Sonic again. Appropriately, the game I was on in my Sonic Retrospective happened to be my favorite Sonic game, so I don’t have to write about how bad Sonic 2006 is again.
I am writing about Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles together simply because they were originally going to be …

Sonic the Hedgehog has some of the greatest music in video games. I am of course referring to the Genesis games, today Sonic games have really cheesy songs that are in the “so bad, it’s good” category. Here I’m listing 10 of the best in no real order. It was pretty hard to cut the list down to 10, so look out for another one of these lists some time in the future. In the mean time, sit back and marvel at what bands like Crush 40 think pass for …
Doctor Who is a pretty awesome TV show, but is a little intimidating to get into because there are over 700 episodes. Thankfully, it only seems difficult; there is a really easy way to get into the show.
Just start with series 1 of the 2005 reboot. It has Christopher Eccleston as The Doctor and most stuff is explained as it goes on. The first season can be pretty clunky at times, (it has more than one episode based around farting aliens) but it gets things going for the much better …
May’s edition of the Manga Moveable Feast features To Terra as the title for discussion. As a collaborative project, I wondered why I should bother with an intro to the story with a lengthy and detailed introduction written by Kate Dacey already available. I would recommend those unfamiliar with the series to read that link before continuing on. I planned to write more on this month’s topic, but end-of-school-year obligations held up my progress.
To Terra is a very interesting example of late 70s Japanese science fiction. It clearly displays elements …
I went into Avatar not expecting much. I expected a mediocre, but pretty, action movie. Somehow, it went far, far below my low expectations and continued to become even worse. Here’s why Avatar sucks
1.The Villain Has Less Depth Than Boris Badenov
The villain is all but giggling as he kills children and destroys homes, the villain hates blue people because they’re stupid and don’t appreciate humans invading their territory, the villain is not an actual character. He is a plot device. He exists for the audience to hate him. He has …
